Stories

Today I worked on cleaning out some of the drawers in my desk at home. When we moved to Green Bay, they were basically where I threw all of my memorabilia from vacations and from my life in Minnesota. However, after the wedding in August, I am moving to Saint Paul and I don’t plan to leave too much behind at my parents’ house when I do so.  So the process of cleaning my room has begun!

The motivation for working on the desk drawers came from my inability to move my desk from where it was located in my room. Yes, there was that much crap in there.

I came across a black notebook. I figured it was a journal of sorts, however I opened it and there were a few traced pictures (I suck at drawing-that’s how I know they are traced and not free hand). I looked further in the notebook and came across a story I had written..

While I was younger, I really aspired to become a writer. I was always writing random little stories in notebooks. A lot of them I have come across and had some good laughs reading.

This one I didn’t remember though.

It was about a character named “Emilee Holland”. I obviously really sucked at coming up with character names and used my own name for inspiration. I read through the story and quickly realized that I was writing about my experience moving from Vernon Center MN to La Crescent MN. As I read, all of the moments written about were clearly brought to the front of my memory.

I guess writing has been my stress outlet for a while now. (I am guessing that this story dates back to about fifth or sixth grade, based on my penmanship similarities to notes I also found). Writing these stories were how I coped with my move. Now, I write on here and that’s how I handle stress (except right now I’m not stressed-I’m just bored).

It’s kind of cool looking back over these old stories and notes and viewing my life back then. It is crazy to see everything that has happened since then. Now, all I have to do is look back through old blogposts.

Home

I am finally home in Green Bay for the summer!

My mom arrived at CSP at around 1 pm on Friday (5/8) to help me move stuff into the van to trek home. We made a stop at Noodles for lunch and then headed to my storage facility to throw a few things in that I would not need over the summer. While we were there I got a call form Pizza Ranch. It was one of my managers asking if I was at work already, if not I should just come in around 5. I called back immediately and told them I wasn’t even in the right state, let alone home to get to work in time. Apparently, the scheduler misread my message about when I’d be able to start working again.

When I did get home, around 8:45 pm, we got all of my things unpacked. I then chatted it up with Katherine for a bit as she filled me in on her trip to Greece and Rome over Spring Break. She bought me a beautiful dress and a pair of knock-off Ray Bans as souvenirs!

After our chat, I headed to Pizza Ranch to surprise Trevor. It was such a great moment. We hadn’t seen each other in about a week and a half. Being reunited after not seeing each other for a while or being able to talk much is one of my favorite things about being in a relationship. It makes you cherish your time together so much more and you’re more excited to see each other. I did feel kind of scandalous kissing at Pizza Ranch though…

Trevor and I had originally scheduled a date for Saturday to go see Avengers:  Age of Ultron and get lunch after. However, since my start date was misunderstood-I was scheduled to work Saturday 10-4. So we made a spur of the moment plan to see it Friday night at 10:30. *Flashback* I think I saw the 10:30 showing of the first Avengers with my first bf, that was our first date-and I fell asleep during it. This time I didn’t fall asleep though!

It was so nice to be able to spend some time together after not seeing each other for a while. Being apart made me not miss the days of being in a long distance relationship at all.

Summer 2015 has officially begun! It will be filled with nannying the Schlies boys, working at Pizza Ranch, planning a wedding, going to the gym, and a lot of fun! (Now if only the weather would cooperate…)

Packing

Tomorrow I move out of my awesome dorm/apartment here at Concordia. It is the last dorm I will ever live in-kinda crazy…

I have been attempting to pack all week; it has been a painfully slow process. I have a total of 3 boxes packed! 1 has games/DVDs/pictures in it and the other 2 have clothes. I have a long way to go though.

This morning I had my last “real” final. It was for my music class and I don’t think I did too badly. I have another final tonight at 4 pm, but it’s just presentations so I’m not too concerned.

So what will I do with all of this time? Avoid packing….

Why else would I have started my laundry, done a bunch of promotion stuff for my photo blog and Facebook page, and be sitting at my laptop?

I hope you all have wonderful days, filled with much less packing than my day will have.
